We had the best family get together this past weekend. We stayed in the Ranch House. The staff went above and beyond our expectations in making sure we had a great weekend. Since our stay we are really thinking about having our Wedding Venue there. Great place and a great staff. Thank you all for a great weekend.
Our first time to stay there this past weekend. In over 20 years of "glamping", this is the absolute best place we have ever stayed. RV sites are great. Excellent hookups (I hate worn out plugs), pads are very nice and level, fire rings, and even had small slabs we could park our bikes on. Great central location for excellent hill country motorcycle riding. Very nice store with great beer selection, grill, and gas. Everything was very reasonably priced. Great views, nice pool and bath houses. Didn't go into the cabins, but if they are as nice as they look on the outside and as well maintained as everything else in the park, then they should be nice. Cherry on the top was the friendly, courteous staff. One young man even helped to jump start a motorcycle in our group who's battery had died. Top Shelf!! Will be going back soon!!
New favorite hillcountry camping. Always friendly and always clean!! Many memories here.
We tent camped here, the grounds were very nice. It's primarily for rv's and cabins, but the tent area is off in its own secluded area, and it's pretty small. It's primitive, and only a few spots have fire pits. The staff told us over the phone AND while we were there that they could bring us a fire pit, but turns out they don't actually do that, which really dampened our trip. So don't expect a fire if your tent camping here. It dropped down to the low 40s and they still didn't bring us one. The facilities were well kept, the location was beautiful. They do have an outdoor hot tub too, and you have access to everything even if your tent camping. Overall I would recommend this place if your in a cabin or RV. It's a shame the tent area lacks fire pits, otherwise we would be back.
Google It. It will haunt your nightmares. I saw it on our hike in the limestone cliff area. O M G. Kinda glad it got away.
Cabin was clean, comfortable, quiet stay. Staff very friendly. Hiking trail behind cabin. Moonlit hike was fun. Watched a full moon rise from behind the huge hills, while sitting on the front porch of our cabin. In the morning made coffee, went outside and watched deer walk down below in the trees from the side of our overlook porch. Also, made friends with a black and white friendly wild kitty. Wish we had stayed two nights instead of one. Also, I almost caught a Texas Red Headed Centepede.
